This year’s Smart Sustainable Cities Hackathon is designed to address the issues of Cauayan City on Climate Change, Agriculture, Energy, Health, Solid & Water Waste Management, and Transportation.
UNTIL THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE
on March 23, 2022
A hackathon is a coding marathon by programmers, developers, designers and data scientists over a period of time that will prototype a seemingly impossible idea into a possible and viable business.
Veering away from traditional hackathons where created ideas end up shelved due to lack of follow-through, Impact Hackathon is designed to have a reverse hackathon model, where major partners can provide problem statements and become mentors to the developer teams.
Awarded as the "First Smart City in the Philippines", Cauayan City has developed systems and digital applications to ensure efficient and expedient business transactions between their local government units (LGUs) and the citizens of Cauayan.
The need to involve and empower their people to innovative and digitized solutions towards a smarter and more sustainable Cauayan. This is where the power of collaboration comes into play through the launching of Impact Hub Manila and Cauayan City's Smart Sustainable Cities Hackathon 2022
The Smart Sustainable Cities Hackathon 2022 will be held over the span of 2 days where participating teams will ideate and prototype their solutions to the corresponding problems. The winning team will receive a cash prize, and the opportunity to immerse themselves in Cauayan City’s Sustainable Development Center where they will be staying for 6 months during the incubation of their solution.
You should join the Impact Hackathon Online 2021 if you have an interest in developing solutions to the current problems of the Philippines, and the commitment to fully participate throughout the three phases of the Impact2050 Program.
The event is open to anyone regardless of age, gender, race, background, and experience. However, attendees below 18 years old are required to submit a written consent from their legal guardians.
